Why I changed my mind about medicinal cannabis | Hugh Hempel | TEDx University of Nevada
Here you can see Hugh Hempel tell the incredibly moving story of how he started to use CBD to treat his 11-year-old twins.
He discusses the voyage from seeing cannabis as a dangerous drug to an ambassador for the availability and use of CBD.
His daughters both suffer from a very rare genetic disorder ‘Niemann–Pick disease, type C‘ a lysosomal storage disease, also known as Childhood Alzheimer’s.
After many efforts to ease their suffering, Mr. Hemper found that CBD can really help ease the seizures. And, unlike traditional medicine, the side effects were no longer present.
Now, Mr. Hemper uses much less pharmaceutical medicine and sees joy coming back to his children’s eyes.
He is still surprised when confronted with people not believing that cannabis can be any more than a harmful drug, and is trying to educate the US.
